It’s funny how the rules seem to change depending on who’s doing the talking. We’re told that Christians shouldn’t “force their morals” on anyone—fair enough, nobody likes a pushy dinner guest. But then, in the very next breath, we’re asked to nod along with the idea that men can get pregnant, as if basic biology just got a software update nobody asked for. Apparently, “don’t push your beliefs on others” only applies to some beliefs. The rest get a megaphone, a corporate sponsor, and a sensitivity training seminar.
Here’s the thing about truth: it doesn’t care about trends. You can put a wig on a rock, but it’s still a rock—and that’s actually the good news. Jesus said the wise man builds his house on the rock, and the foolish man builds on sand (Matthew 7:24–27). Sand shifts with every cultural wind that blows through, and lately, it’s been blowing like a category five hurricane. But the rock? The rock just sits there, steady as ever, unmoved by whatever the latest hashtag demands we believe by Thursday.
So if we’re going to build our lives—and our morals—on something, it might as well be something that doesn’t need updating every election cycle. The Bible has been around for a couple thousand years, and it hasn’t issued a single patch or retraction. That’s a better track record than most things we’re asked to trust today. Build on the rock, folks. It’s the only foundation that comes with a lifetime guarantee—and by lifetime, I mean eternal .
